Backup FreeNAS Configuration

This post will guide you how to backup and restore FreeNAS configuration. How do I back up the FreeNAS configuration files.

Backup FreeNAS Configuration

You just need to do the following steps to backup configuration file in your FreeNAS.

#1 open a browser in you system, and type the IP address of your NAS. The admin page of FreeNAS will open.

#2 click on System button, and the System section will display. And click on the General tab, then click Save Config button.

#3 a “.db” file will download in your browser. And you can check it in your download folder of your browser.

If you want to restore one configuration of your FreeNAS configuration. Just do the following steps:

#1 open the WebGUI of your FreeNAS in a browser.

#2 go to System, and click General tab, and click Upload Config button. and then you need to choose the .db file in your local directory. Click Update command.

The FreeNAS system will be rebooted with your restored configuration.
